Apple Investigates iPad Wi-Fi Issues

An internal AppleCare document turned up by MacRumors says Apple is actively investigating a number of issues concerning Wi-Fi connectivity of the third-generation iPad.
Since the launch of the iPad, many complaints regarding connection drops, slow download and upload speeds or the device’s inability to detect local Wi-Fi networks apart from charging and overheating issues.

According to the document, indications include, but are not limited to, “intermittent connectivity, slow Wi-Fi speeds” and “Wi-Fi networks not seen.”
A thread on Apple’s online support forums talking about the issues currently has 931 replies; a proof that the problems are significantly upsetting.
One reply said:
“I am in a hotel with my laptop and new ipad3. The laptop wifi reception is as strong as it gets, but the iPad only registers a weak signal. Anyone else having similar problems? Any suggestions?
iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1”
The gist of most of the replies on the thread is that only the Wi-Fi version of the iPad is affected by the said problems, whereas the 3G model is not.
If the document is authentic, we are not sure. But if it is, then Apple will have been trying to take out and replace iPads that have Wi-Fi connectivity problems as of the moment.
Apple, on the other hand has not released an official statement concerning the matter.
