Toshiba Announces 10 Inch Windows 7 Tablet With 64GB SSD, Next Gen Atom CPU

Toshiba Japan just announced a new tablet, a 10.1 inch Windows 7 model that runs on a next generation Atom processor. The device is called WT301/D for the local market and it’s meant specifically for enterprise use. The slate comes with a 10.1 inch TFT display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and LED back light.

There’s also Windows 7 Professional 32 bit available as the OS and Microsoft Home and Business 2010 come preinstalled. Add to that a next generation Atom CPU, 64GB of SSD, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi and you’ve got the standard bulky tablet with Windows that “everyone” is dreaming of. OF course, microHDMI is available as well, plus a 1.3MP cam and a 0.3MP inner cam. Stereo speakers are also a nice addition to the device, that will hit the Japanese market this month.
The price hasn’t been confirmed yet and I sure hope that this slate is not as noisy or annoying as the ASUS Eee Slate B121, that we recently reviewed here at Tablet News. Also, I hope it doesn’t weigh over a kilo so it’s not a hand killer like the ASUS gear mentioned before.
